Home-Based CBT PC Certification Courses In CompTIA A Plus - Updated
There are two specialist areas of training in a full CompTIA A+ program; you're seen as competent at A+ once you've passed your exams for both subjects. Alongside being taught how to build PC's and fix them, students on an A+ training course will be shown how to work in antistatic conditions, how to fault find, to diagnose and to remotely access problems. Should you decide to add Network+ to your A+ course, you'll also have the ability to assist with or manage networks of computers, allowing you to move further up the career path.
Some training providers offer a Job Placement Assistance facility, to help you get your first job. The fact of the matter is it isn't so complicated as you might think to secure employment - once you're trained and certified; the growing UK skills shortage sees to that.
Update your CV at the beginning of your training though (advice can be sought on this via your provider). Don't delay till the exams have actually been passed. Various junior support jobs have been offered to students who are in the process of training and have yet to take their exams. This will at least get your CV into the 'possible' pile and not the 'no' pile. Actually, a local IT focused employment agency - who make their money when they've found you a job - is going to give you a better service than a division of a training company. They should, of course, also be familiar with local industry and the area better.
Many students, apparently, spend evenings and weekends on their training and studies (for years sometimes), and then just stop instead of looking for a job. Sell yourself... Do your best to let employers know about you. Don't think a job's just going to jump out in front of you.
A study programme must provide a nationally accepted certification at the finale - and not some unimportant 'in-house' plaque for your wall. To an employer, only the big-boys like Microsoft, Adobe, Cisco or CompTIA (as an example) will make the right impression. Nothing else will cut the mustard.
